Morning Sickness Cures

When it comes to morning sickness, it’s a sad but true fact that there is no one cure that works for everyone. Every woman is different when it comes to how the body reacts to pregnancy. When thinking about morning sickness cures, however, there are a few different options worth trying to see what works best for you.

Although, as we have said, morning sickness is different for everyone, a basic general rule is to try and not miss meals. As well as this, it might be a good idea to have a little and often – in other words, don’t overload the stomach with three large meals but try little bits of food throughout the day so the stomach can cope more easily and not produce more acid which in turn leaves you feeling queasy.

Another method which may help to alleviate the sickness is getting enough sleep – it can often be triggered by being overtired, therefore getting a good night’s sleep and, if possible, taking naps during the day is always beneficial.

It may seem silly, but just by getting out of bed more slowly in the morning can help. It allows the body to adjust to a different position without feeling it’s gone through a big jolt and thereby, hopefully staves off those sickness feelings. If you find that morning sickness really does hit you in the mornings then it might be a good idea to put a bit of dry cereal or dry crackers by your bed before you go to sleep then nibble on these when you wake up. It may have a settling effect on your stomach.

Avoid situations that have the potential to make you feel sick. This may seem obvious but warm places such as a hot kitchen or stuffy room which would make you feel a bit uncomfortable even if you weren’t expecting, could induce sickness when you actually are pregnant. Open the windows and get a good dose of fresh air – this will also get rid of any odors that might make you nauseous.

Another good way to avoid bad smells is to carry a handkerchief with a few drops of lemon oil then if it is impossible to escape the smell, you can just breathe through your handkerchief.

If you are being sick all the time, it is important to keep your fluid intake up. Try to sip little bits of water through the day or herbal teas or fruit juice if water gets too boring but when you have a meal don’t drink fluids during the meal. Again, you don’t want to overload the stomach with more jobs – let it concentrate on one thing at a time.

There are products which claim they can cure your morning sickness and they can be accessed through the web or various health food shops. Items such as cherry flavored lollipops or herbal drinks can actually help – this is because they contain the vitamin B-6 which has scientifically been shown to improve morning sickness. Other supplements which can help are ginger, red raspberry leaf and folic acid.

There are numerous ways you can try to cure morning sickness and these are only a few. Don’t worry if one doesn’t work – experiment a little and you’ll eventually find one that does.
